Complex Torts

Conflicts over wrongful conduct

We handle disputes involving negligence, fraud, breach of duty, and other tort claims.

Overview

Complex torts span a wide range of claims involving wrongful conduct, negligence, or defective products that cause significant financial, physical, or reputational harm. We represent both businesses and individuals in these high-stakes cases, which often involve multiple parties, overlapping claims, and the potential for substantial exposure.

We handle tort disputes such as:

  • Product liability and defect claims — defective products causing property damage, injury, or financial harm.
  • Construction defect litigation — claims involving structural failures, design flaws, or negligent workmanship.
  • Negligence and gross negligence — failures to exercise reasonable care in business, professional, or personal contexts.
  • Strict liability claims — including injuries from inherently dangerous activities or defective products (e.g., dog bites, hazardous materials).
  • Fraud and misrepresentation — false statements or deceptive practices causing loss or harm.
  • Multi-claimant or mass torts — coordinated claims involving widespread harm or systemic failure.

Representative Matters

We have experience handling complex tort litigation involving allegations of negligence, defective products, and systemic misconduct. Representative matters include:

  • Construction Defect Class Action.  We represented a real estate developer in a class action alleging construction defects in a planned community of single-family homes.  After years of contentious litigation, the case was resolved through a favorable settlement for our client.
